Reblogged from The Daily Sonnet:
The stagnant rules of life were closing in
Beyond their walls I longed to simply be
The doors were locked as voices called: be free
Yet still I heard men say: Your love is sin!
The tears I cried as feelings died again
I hid behind those lies; insincere dreams
My heart denied all senses turned to pain
Each night the only sound: my soul’s lost screams.
A gay love sonnet a day keeps the blues away!
